IMPORTANT NOTE ON HOW POUR PAINTINGS DRY

Our pour paintings are designed to dry to a matte or satin finish first (depending on the pour option chosen). This is intentional β€” and it’s the key to getting the best movement, cells, and depth in the final artwork.

Why Your Painting Dries Matte or Satin First

  • Better flow + stronger effects: letting the paint dry naturally keeps the pour chemistry balanced so colours can separate, move, and react properly.
  • More reliable cell action: glossy additives can change viscosity and surface tension during the pour, which often reduces cell formation and organic detail.
  • Cleaner results: the natural dry stage helps prevent unwanted buildup and uneven gloss patches during curing.

Why We Don’t Add High-Gloss During the Pour

  • Gloss products can interfere with reactions: mixing heavy gloss mediums into the pour can flatten movement and reduce the visual effects.
  • Especially important on large Birch Panels: extra runoff during the pour can leave thicker drips and messy edges that are difficult to clean once cured.

The Upgrade: Tri-Art Liquid Glass (Applied After Proper Drying)

Once the painting has properly dried and cured, we apply Tri-Art Liquid Glass as the final finish. It self-levels into a smooth, glass-like surface β€” similar to resin β€” without changing how the pour behaves during creation.

  • Richer colour depth and increased contrast
  • Sharper details β€” cells and patterns pop more
  • Crystal-clear, high-gloss finish with a smooth surface
  • Durable, gallery-style presentation
Bottom line: The matte/satin dry stage is not a β€œmissing step” β€” it’s the foundation. Waiting until the painting is properly dry is what makes the final Tri-Art Liquid Glass finish look bold, clean, and professional.

ACRYLIC POUR WORKSHOP | FORKED RIVER BREWING

Looking for a fun, creative night out in London? Join Paint-tastic by Ellie at Forked River Brewing, London’s oldest operating craft brewery, with a family-friendly taproom, retail shop, and a craft beer lineup that includes core favourites, seasonal releases, and barrel-aged creations. Guests can enjoy food from Kyle’s Fried Chicken & BBQ, which is physically connected to the taproom, with dining right in the brewery while you paint. When the kitchen is closed, guests are welcome to order in or bring their own food, making it an easy full night out with food, drinks, creativity, and plenty of laughs.

These workshops are not your typical art class. They are social, upbeat, and beginner-friendly, with Ellie guiding the group through a colourful, hands-on painting experience. Her bubbly personality keeps everyone laughing, relaxed, and involved from start to finish.

Acrylic pour painting is all about pouring and moving specially prepared acrylic paints to create bold, abstract, one-of-a-kind artwork. No two pieces ever turn out the same, which is part of the fun.

ALL OPTIONS REQUIRE ARTWORK TO REMAIN AT THE VENUE TO DRY AFTER THE EVENT.Β

We offer a variety of pouring options depending on your experience, how many times you have painted with Ellie, and what kind of piece you want to create. Whether you are joining for a fun night out and a great memory, or you are ready to create something truly show-stopping, there is an option for you.

10X20 ARTIST CANVAS

Our artist-grade 10Γ—20 canvas offers a smooth gessoed surface for a satin finish. A solid pick for first-time pourers! This is by far our most popular pouring option.

8X10 TRIPLE CANVAS POUR

Create fluid art on smooth, artist-grade canvasesβ€”resulting in a satin dried finish, unless Tri-Art Liquid Glass is applied once dried.

With the TRIPLE CANVAS POUR, align three canvases and pour across them at once to create a continuous design that looks striking when hung together.

6PC COASTER SET POUR

4" ceramic coasters, separate self-adhesive cork backs, and our Tri-Art Liquid Glass Kit to seal after drying.

FOOD & DRINKS | FORKED RIVER BREWING Β· KYLE'S FRIED CHICKEN + BBQ

Forked River Brewing is the perfect spot to enjoy your Acrylic Pour Workshop in a laid-back craft brewery atmosphere. Guests can sip on a rotating selection of fresh, locally brewed craft beers (plus non-alcoholic options) while they paint, socialize, and create.

Food is available on-site from Kyle’s Fried Chicken + BBQ, which operates inside/connected to the Forked River taproom (separate businesses, but you dine right in the brewery).

Kyle’s is all about Texas swagger + Canadian wood fire, serving comfort food that pairs perfectly with craft beer β€” and they’re known for limited daily quantities (once it’s sold out, it’s sold out).

Workshop guests can expect crave-worthy favourites like:

  • Fried chicken sandwiches (including spicy β€œhot is HOT” options)

  • Fried chicken tenders / wings

  • BBQ staples like brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and sausages
